Semper Fortes in Fide
Dear Parents,
I am excited about the coming year. We are going to have a great year fund-raising and having FUN with this year's AUCTION. Here are some important dates for you to mark down on your calendar:
The Archery Contest is open to any students in the Parish from grades 3-12 who wish to participate. Attached you will find a sponsorship form and you can make copies of it for your student to send to relatives, etc. Students who wish to participate need to have a sponsorship of at least $50. The levels are determined as follows:
| $50-150 | Lord or Lady | |
| $151-250 | Duke or Duchess | |
| $251+ | King or Queen |
All the participants eat for free and are encouraged to dress according to their sponsorship level. There will be a contest for the contestants during this event. We will have some great prizes for the winners.
Also, if you would like to have a booth to sell things during the Festival, please contact Sr. Renee Marie at 467-1077 by September 20. The fee for having a booth during the Festival is a flat fee of $50. The rest of the profit is yours to do with what you want. You will only be given a table and space; it is up to you to decorate it accordingly. You may sell food, drinks, handmade items, etc. The only requirement is that you reserve your space by September 20 and all venues are subject to approval. You will be notified whether your booth is approved or not by September 30.
There will also be games for the younger children who are not able to participate in the archery contest. We want this to be a very fun and family-involved event. There will be a BBQ as well during the event. The price is $5 per plate or $30 per family.
At the Renaissance Festival we will also kick off selling the Raffle tickets for the Auction. We will only sell 500 tickets at $50 each. The prize for this will be as follows:
| 1st place | $6,000 | |
| 2nd place | $3,000 | |
| 3rd place | $1,000 |
We want to encourage you to sell tickets to your family, friends, etc. This is going to be an excellent way to generate some serious income without a lot of work involved.
The theme for this year's Auction is “A Knight for Kids: A Medieval Banquet.” We want to encourage you to start procuring items now for the Auction. We will post a sheet of ideas on the Auction bulletin board soon. You will also find a procurement letter for you to hand out to businesses that you might want to contact. Also, we need to have big sponsorships to write off the expenses so that all proceeds will go directly to the school without having to cover expenses first. If you have an idea of who we can contact, please let Sr. Renee Marie know by calling her at 467-1077 so that we can get on businesses' list for the next year. We need this as soon as possible. To make this Auction a huge success, we are all going to need to pull together to get this done.
This year each teacher will decide if they want to have a class project for the Auction. The teachers will submit their ideas for approval by September 15. Please do not contact the teachers about class projects unless they contact you. You will be contacted by the individual teachers if they require your assistance. Thank you for your consideration in this matter.
If you would like to volunteer to help with various Auction duties, please let Anne Marie Netzel in the Parish office know and let her know what you would like to do: databasing, procuring, sponsorship contacting, etc. Let us know what you are good at so that we can make this the best Auction ever.
I am looking forward to seeing you all at the October 18 Renaissance Festival. This will be fund for everybody and will get the kids involved in raising money for their school.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to call Sr. Renee Marie, CMRI, at 467-1077, or Sr. Mary Petra, CMRI, at 467-0986x118.
